IK Multimedia offers the Art Deco Piano sound library for SampleTank as a free download to all new and existing newsletter subscribers until August 3rd, 2021.
Art Deco Piano is a SampleTank expansion with 600 multi-samples and over 1 GB of sample content. It recreates the Blüthner® PH Grand Piano from the 1930s.
IK Multimedia sampled the original Blüthner® PH Grand Piano using matched pair of Neumann TLM-170R condenser microphones and high-quality preamps. The Art Deco Piano sample library captures the source instrument’s bright and modern sound.
If you’d like to get the Art Deco Piano for free, log in to your IK Multimedia user account (or sign up) and enter the User Area from the Support drop-down menu. You should see a pop-up message with information on activating and installing the piano for free.
To load the Art Deco Piano in your DAW, you will also need to install the freeware SampleTank 4 Custom Shop plugin. If you don’t already own SampleTank 4 Custom Shop, it’s worth noting that it comes with 50 additional instruments, including pianos, strings, bass, and more.
The benefit of using software like SampleTank 4 Custom Shop to run a sound library like the Art Deco Piano is that there’s plenty of room for modifying the sample’s tone. SampleTank comes with a powerful sample engine that offers filters, envelopes, and built-in effects, all of which can spruce up the raw piano sounds.
It’s also fairly easy to use, so you can quickly load up the piano, apply a few tweaks, and start jamming away.

On a related note, IK Multimedia runs a SampleTank Songwriting Contest from July 21st to August 6th this year. All you need to do to enter the contest is compose an original track that uses one or more SampleTank instruments (including the Art Deco Piano) and post it to social media using the hashtag #iksampletankcontest.
